Weekly Certification provides a fast, reliable way to file a weekly claim for unemployment insurance benefits and makes sure that the claim has been received for processing. Access to the Weekly Certification will be granted when you file a new claim for unemployment benefits.
If your Social Security Number ends in an even number (0, 2, 4, 6, 8) you can file on Sunday from 8 a.m. until 12 midnight central time and if your Social Security Number ends in an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) you can file on Monday from 7 a.m. until 12 midnight central time. Tuesday through Friday is open to everyone from 7 a.m. until 12 midnight central time.
Beginning with the week that ends February 28, 2009, for weeks in which you are eligible for any Unemployment Insurance benefit payments, you will receive an additional 25.00 per week. This amount is provided by the Federal Economic Stimulus package. Payments will not begin until March 14, 2009. The first check will include the 25.00 for each of the week ending dates of Feb 28, 2009, March 7, 2009 and March 14, 2009. No weeks prior to February 28, 2009 are eligible for the additional payment. Eligibility for this part of the stimulus package is scheduled to end with week ending December 26, 2009.
