HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SUBSCRIBE?

Subscriptions to access IVTR can take up to 3-4 weeks for processing pending approval and verification of subscribers.

 
WHY CAN'T I LOGIN TO THE SYSTEM?
Access to Interactive Vehicle, Title, and Registration inquiries is governed by the Federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act of 2000 (DPPA). In order to use this online service, you must meet two requirements:

  1. Be authorized by one of the provisions of the DPPA, and
  2. Be a subscriber with a user name and password.

Subscribe now to obtain a user name and password and declare which of the DPPA provisions authorizes you to access this information.

WHAT ARE THE FEES?
In addition to the annual subscription fee of $75, the cost for Vehicle, Title, and Registration Inquries (IVTR) is $2.00 per search, regardless of your search results. The $2.00 search fee allows you to view one "Details" page for free. Viewing more than one Details page is an additional $2.00 for each one selected.

HOW CAN I GET TITLE HISTORY ON MY MOTOR VEHICLE?
You may click here for Form RV-F1313801 or request the ‘Vehicle Information Request’ Form in person or by written request from:

You may complete Form RV-F1313801 and send a check or money order for the required fees to the address above, or come in person. When filing the form in person, you must present a copy of your driver license or photo identification. All photocopies of motor vehicle records are certified by the Title and Registration Division.

HOW CAN I GET A DUPLICATE OF MY TITLE?
You may click here for an application for Duplicate Certificate of Title or Registration or you may request the Multipurpose Application Form in person at a county clerk's office or by written request from:

You may complete the application and send a check or money order with the $5 fee (and any discharge lien if applicable) to the address above, or come in person. Office hours for this service are 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. When filing in person, you must furnish proof of identity, such as a driver license or photo identification card. If someone other than the owner of the vehicle files, they must show proof of identification and have a notarized power of attorney from the owner.

If your request requires certification, enclose an additional fee of .50 cents for this service making it a total of $1.00.

HOW CAN I GET A COPY OF MY DRIVING RECORD?
You or any person you authorize to obtain a copy of your driver record. For a $5 fee you can obtain a copy of a three-year driving record. By mail, you may send your name, birth date, driver license number and $5 check or money order (payable to Tennessee Department of Safety) to:

If mailing, allow two (2) weeks from mailing date of request to receive the driver record. To obtain a driver record in person, you may go to the address above between the hours of 8-4 :30 Central, or find a station that issues driver records at http://www.tennessee.gov/safety/driverlicense/dllocation.htm.

The federal Driver Privacy Protection Act (DPPA) prohibits the release of personal identifying information from driver license and vehicle registration records unless an individual submits a form requesting their record be open. If you want someone else to obtain a copy of your MVR for you, you must submit a notarized statement authorizing that person to obtain the record.
